Located 135 kms southwest of Marmaris. Unfortunately, there is not any certain information about the establishment of the ancient city Telmessos, but it is known that it was one of the biggest cities of Lycians. Fethiye is known for its rock tombs carved into the faces of the cliffs by the Lycians. The tomb of Amnytas dating from 4th-century B.C built in Doric architectural style is the most interesting one to see. Sarcopaghi and Fethiye Tower are other historical places to visit. Today, Fethiye is an important holiday center which is surrounded by holiday villages and high-class hotels.
